FloodSax and the Brotherhood of St Laurence
FloodSax Australia is a social enterprise of national welfare organisation the Brotherhood of St Laurence.
The Brotherhood of St Laurence campaigns to help people experiencing disadvantage at all stages of life, empowering them to build a better future.
The Brotherhood focus on people who are at risk at four critical stages in their lives:

In addition, the Brotherhood also pays particular attention to issues relating to refugees and settlement and financial inclusion.
The key age groups mentioned above as well as the ill and disabled were highlighted in the Attorney General’s latest document ( Manual 20 ) as those being most susceptible to the hazards of floods.
Acting on this information as well as the Brotherhood’s own research, FloodSax was bought on as a social enterprise of the Brotherhood of St Laurence to serve as a tool for those highlighted as the most vulnerable in our community.
As a social enterprise of the Brotherhood all profits from the sale of FloodSax are reinvested back into the Brotherhood’s many programs and services for those in need.
